How to update and review Apple Developer and App Agreements

Updated over a week ago

Keeping your Apple Developer account active and staying compliant with the latest terms and conditions is critical for any app developer. Since Apple frequently revises its developer and app agreements, it's important to regularly check for updates and accept them to avoid any interruptions in the development and distribution of your apps. This article will walk you through the steps to review and accept these agreements.

  • It's important to note that only the owner of the Apple account has the authority to review and accept these agreements. Apple does not permit third parties to accept these agreements on your behalf.

  • If there's an updated agreement awaiting your acceptance, our ability to work on your apps—such as submitting them for review, making updates, or uploading new versions—will be temporarily restricted until the agreements are accepted.

  • There are two types of agreements: Developer agreements (applicable to all apps, including free ones) and Paid App agreements (specific to apps with in-app purchases or subscriptions).

  • Additionally, your Apple Developer account must be renewed annually. If auto-renewal is not enabled, your account may expire, which will result in your app being removed from the App Store until the renewal is completed.

  1. Log into your Apple Developer account:

  • Begin by visiting the Apple Developer Program website.

  • Click on the 'Account' option in the top-right corner and sign in using your Apple ID credentials.

2. In your account dashboard, find your business listed below and go to the "Agreements" tab.

3. Review the Agreement:

  • Any agreements that require your attention will be marked with a blue indicator or appear under "Request Agreements."

  • Click on the relevant agreement and carefully read through the document.

4. Accept the Agreement:

  • Once reviewed, you'll find an 'Accept' button at the bottom of the agreement. Click it to confirm.

  • If you're not the sole owner or legal authority for the developer account, ensure that the appropriate person in your organization accepts the agreement.
